John R. Pomerville

John Pomerville is a shareholder at Goldberg, Persky & White, P.C. In 1987, Mr. Pomerville began his career as an investigator for an asbestos victims’ law firm where not only did he develop a unique perspective on workplace asbestos exposure and product identification, but also gained experience working cases that came to trial with the attorneys. This experience led Mr. Pomerville to study law and by 1999 he was a licensed attorney.

Biography

In 2000 he joined Goldberg, Persky & White, P.C., where to this day he continues to represent mesothelioma, lung cancer, and other asbestos injury victims and their families. Mr. Pomerville attributes his appreciation and understanding of the working men and women he represents, including merchant marines and veterans, to his father – a World War II veteran and paper mill worker. He has extensive litigation experience and has represented hundreds of railroad, paper mill, steel mill and other plant workers throughout the state of Michigan, including his hometown of Manistee and workers in the Upper Peninsula that were exposed to asbestos.

Throughout his career, Mr. Pomerville discovered many asbestos products and manufacturers while working up the exposure and product identification of asbestos cases. He works with clients from the time of their retaining the firm, through their depositions and other witness depositions, to preparing discovery, preparing and arguing motions before the Court, negotiations, and trial.

Mr. Pomerville majored in Criminal Justice and graduated from Grand Valley State. While he was employed as an investigator he went to law school at night while working full time and graduated from Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University. He is licensed to practice in the state of Michigan and a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Metropolitan Detroit Bar Association, and Michigan Association of Justice.

Mr. Pomerville enjoys the outdoors including mountain biking and downhill skiing where he competes in ski racing events in Michigan. In the summer he enjoys water skiing on Sylvan Lake where he lives with his wife Susan. He is also a member of several animal and environmental associations.
